Below is all the information you need to join Fly Compton.

Student Tiers

Tier 1 : Ages 8-12
$ 125 per year + $25 per month
  • 2nd & 4th Saturday in person ground school, flight time and complimentary lunches and 1st & 3rd Saturdays ground school classes via Zoom
  • Log book included
Tier 2 : Ages 13-17
$ 200 per year + $50 per month
  • Includes everything from Tier 1 as well as additional preparation and an instructor endorsement to complete the Private Pilot License Written Exam
  • Log book included
8 Week Private Pilot Summer Camp
FULL SCHOLARSHIP generously funded by private and corporate donations
  • At 17 years old, all students who have passed their Private Pilot License written exam can apply to participate in an 8 week bootcamp over summer break to complete the requirements to fly solo, complete remaining flight hour requirements, and take their oral and practical exam in order to complete their Private Pilot License. Only our most motivated students will be accepted into this program and the training is full time.
  • Students who are not accepted to participate in this program may choose to continue the Saturday classes under an extended Tier 3 enrollment, or have the option to begin paying for one-on-one lessons with a dedicated instructor and discounted aircraft rentals through our Aero Club to work through their Private Pilot's License at their own pace.
Tier 3 : Ages 17+
$ 350 per year + 75 per month
  • Students who have not completed their PPL can extend their enrollment and continue Saturday classes. They are encouraged to reapply to the Private Pilot Summer Camp the following year.
Alumni
$ 500 per year or trade for volunteer time
  • After our students begin working, they are considered Alumni. This includes any students placed in corporate accelerator training programs or working and building time as CFIs. Alumni can avoid their annual fees by returning to Fly Compton as volunteers and mentors to the groups of students following in their footsteps.
    Benefits include invitations to social and industry networking events and fundraising galas.

Rules & Policies

Student Etiquette

Fly Compton Foundation will not tolerate behavior that prevents safety. Any circumstances that may arise for behavioral discipline will be dealt with on an individual basis. Disciplinary actions includes a written warning,

Tardies beyond 15 minutes will be counted as an absence. 4 tardies = 1 absence. Excused tardies will be considered and verified.



Attendance

The Attendance Policy will allot 4 full absences (4 zoom + 4 in-person) per year not including holidays. Excused absences will be considered and verified.

Grades

School is a priority. All students will be required to issue quarterly report cards. No GPA requirements as long as there is effort and progress towards improvement.

Students and Parents Volunteering

Parents run the class duties by signing up for available volunteer positions listed, such as setting up the food, checking in students and clean up.
